Is it just me or has ESPN forgotten that there are thirty other NFL teams?
It seems that the only thing that’s talked about on NFL Live since Monday night has been the upcoming Cowboys-Patriots game. I understand that this will be a good match up, but wtf?! There is more to the NFL than the Cowboys and the Patriots. I’m a Colts fan myself and I’m mystified that outside of ESPN radio, no one has even commented on the undefeated Super Bowl champions. It’s a slap in the face. Also, there are other things going on in the NFL that are worth talking about. Such as Testaverde being signed by Carolina. The ongoing collapse in the N.O and the over hype of Reggie Bush. The resurgence of the Packers. The Steelers returning to their Super Bowl winning form. The issues in Philly…the list goes on. Yet this week it’s been all about the Cowboys and Patriots. That’s just poor coverage in my opinion. Hey, get your ratings…but serve the entire fan base of the NFL.

- Yeah, I'm getting tired of hearing about the same two or three teams. They need to expand it a little.
- Patriots are the best team in the league, ergo, most coverage. Dallas, number 3( behind indy) ergo 3rd most coverage... Patriots V. Dallas =LOTS of coverage, as it is a potential Superbowl matchup in week 6... doesnt happen very often in the NFL. so relax, Colts will have their time in the limelight in week 9, when they play the patriots.
- Yeah I don't know. They have been drooling over the Pats since before the season. Now its Pats AND Cowboys.
- No, it's not just you. For three days solid they've been talking about that game or Joe Torre getting fired. If I were an Indians fan I'd be pissed. They won the series and all ESPN talks about is the Yankees. And when they're not talking about the Yankees, it's all about the Patriots or the Red Sox. ESPN -Eastern Seaboard Programming Network
- What about hockey fans? Why did ESPN drop that coverage? It's not easy being a hockey fan these days!
- Well, they do that when its a big game. i mean, both teams are undefeated.
- yea, i know....and its not like they have much else to talk about....there hasnt been baseball since sunday, its only pre-season in basketball and they barely talk about the NHL anyway...
- I agree but it is gonna be a great game and after the game alot of things are gonna change and the Patriots are gonna be seen as losers at least for that night
- There ARE? Since when? Seriously though, I try not to watch ESPN (except from 5-6 Mon.-Fri., or watching an actual sporting event). That channel exists to be nothing than a bandwagoning hype machine. I don't want them talking about the Steelers, I like flying under the radar. Who cares what some has-been or never-was thinks about my team? Although I am surprised at the lack of coverage for Indianapolis. That's my 2 for 2.
- i gotta agree and disagree with you on this one. yea ESPN has been talking bout Pats vs Boys alot the last week but when you got what it seems to be like the best teams in each conference playing one another and both being 5-0 you gotta talk about it. and i agree with the other guy. there hasnt been baseball in like what seems to be forever. basketball is in preseason and no one cares about hockey or Nascar. this is a cable broadcasting system here and what do they care about and its clearly ratings. and what brings in the most ratings in the US, FOOTBALL of course. you got two of the most popular teams in football both undefeated. the only other game worth mentioning this week is Packers vs Skins. which i dont even care about. why because is clearly obvious that Dallas is the best team in the NFC. they beat a Chicago Bears defense when it had all of its best players on the field. which in turn the Bears almost beat the Packers with its scrubs. then you got the Skins who lost to the giants when Dallas manhandled them. this year you got the cream of the crop in Pats, Boys and Colts. Indy has a bye week this week so i think thats why ESPN hasnt said a word bout them. everyone clearly knows why the Saints and the Eagles suck so much this year. Eagles have no one to get the ball to. the Saints cant block and Reggie is not i repeat not a running back. the Packers are a good story but the last two weeks they been talking nothing but the cheese. about how Favre is a good quarterback and everything brett favre. the Steelers were gonna be good as soon as Big Ben got his mindset right. and really is vinny the answer for the Panthers.
- Yeah, I totally agree. It is kind of like in baseball, the Sunday Night game of the week on ESPN is usually the Yankees or the Red Sox. If they are playing a weekend series you can almost guarantee that the Sunday Night game will be Red Sox and Yankees.
- ESPN has changed a lot. I still like it and watch it. But they often annoy me with the slanted Yanks - Red Sox, Patriots - whoever else is good, coverage. But they put on what gets ratings. You can find the news for your team all over the internet, and when your team finally does win, they'll get coverage. Maybe not as much as a Yanks or Pats team, but they can't ignore you when you're in the big game. Who thought they'd be talking about the Dbacks right now? I'm glad they are! A few other stories to focus on. Kurt Warner taking over fulltime in Arizona (Tim Rattay signed to backup, Leinart out for the year). The poised play of Jason Campbell in Washington (NFC offensive player of the week) really helping out that offense, and the defense ain't bad neither!
- This is one of the biggest games of the year, so of course they are going to talk about the Pats and Cowboys. If the Pats win, they will once again along with the Colts, dominate NFL Live when they meet next month, especially if they are both undefeated, heck, they will talk about them big time even if they weren't undefeated. The Colts are on a bye week, so what do you want them to talk about this week? Injuries? What I do agree with you on is the media is totally not paying attention to the Colts or Steelers. I mean, they talk more about the Chargers "woes" than both your teams consistent wins....That worries me. As a Pats fan, I always enjoyed being under the radar....I hate the way it is now for sure, but lets me honest, the last few years, the media have been sucking up to Peyton and the Colts...during their "almost" undefeated season, to Peyton's TD record breaking, to his not winning a superbowl...Let's be fair, you have had your limelight...I say let the Cowboys have the limelight now...they have earned it for sure...
